About Us

The Ecosystem Thematic Network (ETN) is an institutional network that promotes the systematization of national and regional data on terrestrial, aquatic and marine ecosystems in a standardized way. Its objectives are to promote the value of ecosystem information for resource conscious decision making, facilitate querying and downloading of data with useful filters and options, provide an automated system of “crosswalk’ among different classifications, and facilitate the integration of ecosystem data with the information of other IABIN thematic networks.

The ETN is coordinated by NatureServe working in collaboration with The Nature Conservancy, Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales, CIDES - Panamá, Instituto de Investigación de Recursos Biológicos Alexander von Humboldt - Colombia and Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute. The ETN provides tabular and geospatial data and documents.
